Uganda Gorilla Trekking

Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe to Kibale Forest national Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe international Airport , you will be welcomed by the Rwanda Safaris guide and brief you about the travel plan , various stopping points and what to expect on the trip . Start on the drive from Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park that is known for the Chimpanzee habituation , Chimpanzee watching in Uganda where 90% guaranteed sighting of the Primates in the wilderness of Uganda.

You will have lunch en route in Fortportal town before proceeding to Kibale Forest National Park at Chimpundu Lodge.

Dinner and overnight at Chimpundu Lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

You will leave Chimpundu Lodge and head to Kibale park headquarter at 5;40am for the briefing about the chimpanzee habituation rules and tracking regulations, After you will head to the jungle for the search for the chimpanzees and you will walk with them as they leave their nests and proceed to feed . it will last for 4 hours and latter you will return to the lodge for lunch and later proceed to drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for evening game drive if time allows and later check in at the Lodge.

Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Elephant Plains Lodge

Day 3: Game drive & Boat cruise

you will leave the hotel and head for the morning game drive where you will spot various animals like the African elephant, African buffalo, Ugandan kob, hippopotamus, topi, water buck, warthog, giant forest hog, Nile crocodile, leopard, spotted hyena and later return to the lodge for break fast and relax as you wait for lunch , After lunch you will head for the boat cruise on Kazinga Channel where you will also spot other wildlife animals and birds on the water banks . Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight .

Day 4: Tree Climbing Lions Game drive & Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After morning break fast at the lodge you will head for the ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will spot the tree climbing lions in the wilderness , the game drive will last for 2 hours and later go for lunch before proceeding to drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National park in the southern Sector . You will arrive in the evening hours and check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Rushaga Sector

After morning breakfast , you will head to the park headquarter for the briefing about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking in the wilderness.  Upon completion of the registration with the park officer , you will be divided into groups of 8 paxs and head for the gorilla trekking in the jungle which is likely to last for 3-4 hours depending on the location of the gorillas and once found , you will stay with them for one hour and later return back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Gorilla Habituation in Bwindi & Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

After morning breakfast, you will head back to the park for the unique Safari experience of the Gorilla Habituation which is not like the Mountain gorilla trekking since you will be staying with the gorillas for 4 hours experiencing the wild gorillas that are in the process of being opened up for gorilla trekking.

This activity is enjoyed by only 4 pax unlike the 8 pax on gorilla trekking , and its only available in Rushaga Sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and later you will return to the lodge , head back to the lodge for lunch and later proceed to Kisoro Town .

Day 7: Golden Monkey Trekking  in Mgahinga & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will wake up very early in the morning and transfer to Mgahinga National Park for the golden monkey Trekking in the wilderness of Virunga Mountains, this activity is only available for Mgahinga National Park. You will enjoy the activity for 4 hours and later return back to the city for lunch and later transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda . You will cross to Virunga Region in Rwanda via Cyanika border.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park , Visit gorilla Guardian Village.

After early breakfast head to the park offices in Kinigi  for briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations in the magical Volcanoes National Park.  The Registration formalities will be handled by the safari guide and trust him with your passports , be split into small group get allocated to the gorilla family and head to the park for your memorable gorilla Watching. You will in the afternoon to visit the gorilla guardian gorilla village for the cultural experience and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Dian Fossey hike & Visit DeGeneres Campus

You will wake up in the morning and head to the park headquarter to the briefing about the Mount Bisoke which is one of the 8 volcanoes that make up Virunga Mountains of which 6 peaks are location in Rwanda. The hike will take around 6-7 hours, later return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer to the Ellen DeGeneres campus visit for donation and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Kigali for the city tour

After breakfast at the lodge , you will set off to drive from Volcanoes National Park Rwanda to connect to Kigali City for the city tour of the various attractions within Village . Dinner and overnight

Day 11: Drop at the Kigali International Airport.

Depending on the flight time , you will be transferred to the airport 2 hours before the flight time .
