Day 1: Depart Kigali for Nyungwe Forest National Park
Depart Kigali after breakfast for Nyungwe Forest National Park. This is one of the best primate safari parks in Rwanda which is worth visiting for chimpanzee tracking. It is positioned in the Southern Province of Rwanda and it is accessible about 6 hours’ drive. En-route, you will make a stopover at Butare and later, enjoy lunch before transferring to your luxury lodge in Nyungwe National Park.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walks in Nyungwe Forest National Park
Day 2 of your 5 days luxury primate tour Rwanda begins with a hefty breakfast and later, transfer to Uwinka Visitor Center; a briefing point for you to know the set safety measures for chimpanzee tracking. The actual search for chimpanzees begins at 8:00am but this will last about 2 to 4 hours. Once you come across chimps, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them, take pictures and then get back to your respective up-market lodge to relax, share your day experiences.
A canopy walk starts at 2:00pm and this takes you through a suspended walk way about 50 meters from the ground. However, you will enjoy remarkable view of varied primates, birds and also the forest canopy.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Have a hefty breakfast from your luxury lodge and after, check out ready to embark on about 6 hours’ drive to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes and visit the Twin Lake
After breakfast and with your packed lunch plus bottled water, gather at Kinigi for briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines and also to be allocated to gorilla family. At 8:00am, begin your 2-6 hours’ gorilla trek experience but this also cover 1 hour of magical encounter once you come across a gorilla group. Later, walk back to your luxury lodge to chill as you wait for the afternoon visit to the beautiful twin lakes; Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo.

Day 5: Golden monkey tracking and drive back to Kigali
Breakfast will be served to you at your respective luxury lodge and after, expect to assemble at Kinigi park headquarters once again to be briefed on golden monkey tracking guidelines. You will begin the actual trek to see golden monkeys at 8:00am and this will take you from 2 to 4 hours. Once you come across golden monkeys, only 1 hour will be allowed for you to take photos, learn about their behaviors and a lot more.
