Itinerary

Day 1 : Kigali City Tour  & Transfer to Volcanoes National park .

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport , you will be welcomed by the Rwanda Safaris guide and start to explore Kigali city visiting the genocide memorials , Local markets and then after lunch proceed to transfer to Volcanoes National Park . If time allows , you will pass take a boat canoe on twin lakes in the famous gorilla habitat in Rwanda. These craters are unique and you can only explore the uniqueness once you take a trip to Rwanda with Rwanda Safaris the Eco safari company in the region .

Optional Visit to the Ellen De Generes Campus / Gorilla Guardian Village.

You will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight .

Day 2 : Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park

Have your early breakfast and drive to Kinigi, the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the gorilla trekking experience. After the briefing, you will be assigned to a particular group and start off the trek by the lead of local tour guides/rangers. The search for the primates takes about 3-4 hours and once they are found, you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence as you learn and enjoy their lifestyles like feeding, playing and others. After the trek, drive back to the lodge for lunch and start on the transfer to Nyungwe forest national Park where you will reach a bit late due to the speed limit.  You will check in at the lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

After your early breakfast, you will set off for the chimpanzee trekking experience in the park rain forests. The activity starts with briefing at the park headquarters where you are told the dos and don’ts during the experience.

After, you will start the trek into the forests in search of the chimps and once found, you will be allowed to spend some good time in their presence. Also, during the hike through the forests, you will spot a number of other species including over 200 tree species and other 13 primate species like the colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and the red-tailed monkeys.

Once your back to the lodge for lunch , you will go for the canopy walk as you will spot more primates of Nyungwe .

Note : The canopy walk safari activity is dependent on the weather conditions of the day and if its raining , you cant undertake the activity . Dinner and overnight as Above

Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali for flight back home

Wake up for your late breakfast at the lodge and later check out for your transfer to Kigali for your departure flight. During the drive, you can opt for  Nyanza Palace visit,   and Huye museums, and proceed with your journey to Kigali to catch the flight back home.
