Day1: Depart Kigali for Akagera National Park
Depart Kigali capital city for Akagera National Park to start your 6 days Rwanda luxury gorilla and wildlife tour holiday. This is after breakfast at your hotel in Kigali and your journey will cover between 2 and 3 hours’ drive in a comfortable 4×4 luxury safari car. Arrive at Akagera National Park early to check in at your luxury safari lodge of your choice for lunch and spend your afternoon on launch or boat cruise along Lake Ihema. This exciting water sport will take you between lasts 2 and 3 hours and comes with lots of incredible sights of hippos, basking crocodiles, water birds and a lot more.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise in Akagera National Park
Expect to get up early for breakfast and after, leave your luxury safari lodge for a rewarding morning game drive via the Northern section of Akagera National Park. This offers you a great opportunity to spot out different wildlife species such as lions, buffaloes, Masai giraffes, African bush elephants, zebras, birds, antelopes of different kinds including topis, impalas, elands, roan antelopes and a lot more.
Today, your game drive will be best done in one our 4×4 luxury safari cars with pop-up which lets you have excellent view of diverse savanna wildlife species in Akagera National Park. You will spend between 2 and 3 hours exploring the savannas of Akagera National Park and later, you will return to your luxury safari lodge to chill, have lunch as you wait for an afternoon boat cruise.
A boat cruise or a launch trip on Lake Ihema will be done in the afternoon and this offers you opportunity to sight crocodiles as they bask along the lake shores, hippos and aquatic birds.

Day 3: Transfer from Akagera to Volcanoes National Park
Have breakfast in the morning and later, check out of your up-market safari lodge. Transfer from Akagera National Park to Volcanoes National Park in Northwestern Rwanda about 4 hours’ drive.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Day 4 of your 6 days Rwanda luxury gorilla and wildlife tour begins with a cup of tea or coffee and after, expect to join the rest of the visitors for briefing about gorilla trekking rules and regulations in Kinigi. Given the nature of this primate adventure, please don’t forget to come along with some energy snacks and bottled water.
You will be allocated to one habituated gorilla family which you will track in a group of 8 trekkers. The actual search for mountain gorillas begins at 8:00am and this may last you 2-6 hours which covers 1 hour of magical encounter. The length of the trek may depend on the nature of the habitat, your speed of walking and location of gorillas. After a rewarding 1 hour with mountain gorillas, walk back to your luxury gorilla safari lodge to relax, share your experiences and later retire for the night.

Day 5: Visit Iby’Iwacu village and Gisenyi
Get the best of your hefty breakfast from a luxury gorilla safari lodge and later, go for cultural trip in Iby’Iwacu cultural village. While here, enjoy the best of Intore dances, music performances, learn about Rwandese unique traditions, lifestyles and a lot more. After the rewarding interaction with local residents, drive to Gisenyi for a quick city tour before driving to Lake Kivu. Your evening will involve you enjoy breathtaking view of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) side, chill on the white sand beach of Lake Kivu.

Day 6: Return to Kigali
