Itinerary

Book Unique 14 Days Rwanda Zanzibar Adventure to enjoy gorilla trekking along side other primates in the wilderness of Rwanda, DR Congo & Relaxation on the beaches of Zanzibar in Tanzania with Rwanda Safaris.

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali

Depending on the arrival time at Kigali International Airport , you will be welcomed by Rwanda Safaris guide, brief you about the 14 days Adventure in Rwanda, Congo & Tanzania under his watch. You will proceed to check in at the hotel in Kigali for the dinner and overnight Stay .

Day 2: Kigali City Tour

You will wake up in the relaxed morning ready for the Kigali city tour to explore to various tourists attractions in the city and you will visit the following Caplaki Crafts Village, Kigali Genocide Memorials , Mount Kigali , Craft centers, and later return to the lodge for lunch and later proceed to drive to Volcanoes National Park which is the home for the mountain gorillas and other primates. Primate Safaris in Rwanda mostly lead you to Volcanoes with key tourists attractions being the Golden Monkey watching , Mountain Gorillas, mountaineering tours to the Virunga Massifs.

You will be checked in the lodge by the guide for dinner and overnight .

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

You will wake up in the morning and head to the park headquarter for the briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations in the wilderness of Volcanoes National Park. During the registration and the briefing , you will be served with coffee which has great taste of the African Coffee.

Later you will drive to the starting point for the gorilla trekking which is subjective to the gorilla family allocated during the visit. The Mountain Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is ranked among the less tiresome gorilla watching destination compared to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda!

You will spend with the gorillas one hour watching them play, feed and the silverback gorilla managing the group as the head of the family and the leader, Later you will return to the lodge for relaxation .

Day 4: Ellen DeGeneres Campus visit and Gorilla Guardian Village.

You will leave the lodge at 9:00am and head to the Ellen De Generes Campus which is a donation towards the conservation of the Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. There multi-acre, Eco- friendly facility adjacent to the Volcanoes National Park includes three main buildings – the Sandy and Harold Price Research Center, the Rob and Melani Walton Education Center and the Cindy Broder Conservation Gallery – as well as housing for visiting students and researchers. The Ellen Campus is designed to serve as a gateway to conservation for the many stakeholders with whom we work as well as visitors from around the world, helping to create the next generation of conservationists.

After Learning more about the conservation of the Mountain Gorillas , you will return to the lodge for lunch and later head for the cultural experience in the Gorilla Guardian Village which is a Non-Profit umbrella organization that aims at improving the lives of reformed poachers and communities around Volcanoes National Park where you will be oriented about the Rwandese Cultural practices like marriage , History, Cooking , Foods and many more later return to the lodge for lunch and dinner.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Watching in Volcanoes

You will wake you to enjoy your breakfast and later transfer to the Park headquarter for briefing about the golden monkey tracking rules in Volcanoes National Park .

Golden Monkeys are shy primates which are only found within the Virunga Massif which are shared between Rwanda, Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo.  After you will head to the starting point ans enter into the park to start on the golden monkey tracking which is likely to last between 3-5 hours and later you will return to the point where you left the safari guide to transfer you back to the lodge for lunch , in the evening you will relax at the lodge .

Day 6: Second gorilla trekking

You will head to the park for the second gorilla trekking experience in the magical Volcanoes National Park with the Knowledgeable park rangers of Rwanda Development board. You will be visiting another group compared to the one you visited on the first gorilla family you visited . You will enjoy coffee and later head to the gorilla trek to visit the allocated gorilla family . This gorilla trekking experience is not in any different from the one you visited on the first day.  Later you will return to the lodge for lunch and later proceed to transfer to Nyungwe forest National park where you will be spending your night in the Wilderness

Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe forest National Park

You will leave for park in the morning and where you will start with the briefing about the chimpanzee watching rules and regulations to guide you on the walk to search for the chimpanzees in the wilderness of Nyungwe forest national Park located on the border with Kibira National Park in Burundi.  Chimpanzee watching in the montane topical rain forests is not complicated like the Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National park, Chimps are stubborn, noisy and very mobile and you will watch the chimpanzees for one hour and later return to the lodge for relaxation .

Day 8: Relaxation  & Transfer to Bukavu

You will enjoy the property in the morning hours upto 11am and later proceed to drive to connect to Bukavu city which is located in Eastern Democratic republic of Congo the most closest city to Kahuzi Biega National park the home for the eastern lowland gorillas which are only found in democratic republic of Congo. Unique Feel of the City on City tour to explore the oldest Church in Africa.

You will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 9: Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking

You will leave the hotel at 6:30am and head to the park for the unique Eastern Lowland gorilla trekking in the wilderness of Kahuzi Biega National park. You will also enjoy coffee and the orient you about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations .

Take note that the conservation approach used by the conservationists is different from that which was used by Dian Fossey in Volcanoes National park . Full the rules when your in the wilderness of Kahuzi biega national park.  The Safari guide will transfer you to the starting point for the gorilla trekking , you will enter into the jungle and start on the search for the gorillas, once found you will stay with them for 1 hour and later return to the park headquarter to proceed to Bukavu .

Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer back to Kigali

After morning breakfast, you will start on the journey to cross the border to connect to Kigali via Nyanza Palace, and enjoy the scenic drive to connect to Kigali Rwanda. The capital city of the Rwanda.

You will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight .

Day 11: Transfer back to Kigali for flight to Da es Salaam & proceed to Zanzibar Islands

After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for flight to Dar Es Salaam where you will be welcomed by another company representative , check in at the ferry and transfer to Zanzibar islands .

Diner and overnight

Day 12: Relaxation in Zanzibar Islands

Relax at the beach as you may option to take the tour to swim with the dolphins in the Indian ocean.

Day 13: visiting the stone town

Morning hours you will relax and later take a visit to the stone town , to explore the oldest stone town in Zanzibar.

Day 14: Take a flight back home.

You will enjoy morning breakfast at the lodge, and start on the transfer to ferry to connect to Dar Es Salaam where you will take a flight back home.
