6 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari encompasses the visit to the gorillas in Mgahinga National Park , Golden Monkey tracking and gorilla Habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

6 days Gorilla and wildlife safari in Uganda and Rwanda

The 5 days gorilla and wildlife safari start and ends in Kigali the capital of Rwanda. The safari takes you through two countries that is Rwanda where the safari begins with a city excursion, move to Queen Elizabeth national park for wildlife viewing and then to Bwindi Impenetrable national park for gorilla trekking experience.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, city excursion and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Upon the arrival in Rwanda, you will your guide/driver who will shortly brief you about the safari. After, you will start off with a city tour around Kigali granting you a chance to visit places like the national museum, art and craft shops, and many others. Later after lunch, you will set off to the home of the endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda – Bwindi Impenetrable national park crossing via Katuna border. Arrive at the park in the evening hours, check in at the accommodation of your choice for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience and Batwa cultural tour

Wake up early for your breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for registration and briefing about gorilla trekking experience dos and don’ts. After, you will start off the trail by the lead of the game ranger to the thick rainforests to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. When found, you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence as you enjoy their lifestyles like ways of playing, how they feed, how they groom their young ones and others.

After, you will trail back to the headquarters for your trekking certificates and then drive back to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for the Batwa cultural tour. During your time with the Batwa, you will enjoy their cultural practices like traditional stories, songs, dances and also their hunting styles. Later, drive back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking & Community visit

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park

In the morning after breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for your transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. The park stands as the second largest national park in Uganda after Murchison falls national park and it is famous for hosting the highest wildlife including the four of the five big African games. You will check in at the park with an enroute game drive in Ishasha sector which is famous for the rare tree climbing lions. Check in at the accommodation of your booking for refreshment, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise

In the morning after breakfast, you will go for an early morning game drive where you will spot the early hunters – lions, leopards, hyenas and others. You also spot the grass eating animals like the elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, bush bucks, and others. After, you will drive back at the lodge for lunch and later go for a relaxing boat cruise on Kazinga channel.

While on the cruise, spot a number of animals like Nile crocodiles, hippos, elephants and others and beautiful bird species along the shores. Later, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali

In the morning after your late breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge for your long journey back to Kigali for your departure flight or opt for a stay in any hotel of your in Kigali city.
