5 Days Muhabura Hike & Gorilla Trek

Hike to the top of Mount Muhavura also known as Muhabura , an extinct volcano shared by Rwanda & Uganda – While still in the Virungas, you will get chance to track down golden monkeys , visit the Batwa pygmies and do Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes park.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival in Kigali, you will meet and greet with our representative then drive to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Dinner only
Day 2: Hike Mount Muhavura
After breakfast, with your ranger start the hike to the tallest of the virunga volcanoes. The hike is about about 8 hours round trip but depends on your fitness, at the peak of Mt Mahuvura, you get the most commanding views and expect to see peaks of Mt Rwenzori, all the virunga volcanoes, Lake Edward, the crater lake atop, and Bwindi Impenetrable national Park. Your guide will be waiting for you at the foothill who will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. FB
Day 3: Batwa Trail/ Golden monkey tracking
After breakfast, either track the playful and beautiful golden monkeys or visit the batwa community with the batwa trail expereince. The pygmies will take you aback on how they used to live and what they used to in the forest. get to see their former shelters between tree branches, how they hunted, used local herbs for medicine and many more. Later return drive to Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge. FB
Day 4: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park
Have an early breakfast and gather at the park headquarters for briefing, you will then go in the mist to track the rare mountain gorillas which may take from 2 hours or more depending on the location of the gorillas. Return to the lodge and wind your day with traditional dance performances at the lodge. Dinner and overnight. FB
Day 5: Kigali- Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Kigali and do a City tour, visit the Kandt’s Natural History Musuem, crafts shops and Gisozi genocide memorial site do some shopping, depending on the time of your flight, transfer to the Airport for departure. BB
