4 Days Congo Uganda Safari

Itinerary

Day 1:Transfer to Bukavu Congo

After your breakfast at the lodge , you will be picked up by the Rwanda Safaris Guide who will brief you about he dos and the donts as you will be crossing some borders like Rwanda Congo Border and start on the 8-9 hours journey connecting to the Eastern Part of Congo ( South Kivu ) for the memorable Safari holiday that encompasses Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking tours in the wilderness of Kahuzi biega National park.

During the journey , you will see various primates in Nyungwe forest national park which is the home for the primates , later proceed to connect to Bukavu city via Rusizi One border.  Congo Visa will be handled by our Safari guide.

Bukavu city is the biggest town in the eastern Congo and its close to Kahuzi biega National Park which hosts the Eastern Lowland Gorillas in Congo.  The rusizi border is 15 minutes drive to the hotel in Bukavu city.

Day2:Eastern Lowland Gorilla tracking at Kahuzi Biega National Park

You will set off from the hotel in Bukavu after your morning breakfast and start on the two hours drive to connect to Kahuzi Biega National Park the only place that is known for Eastern Lowland Gorilla Watching in Africa . Upon arrival at the Park headquarter , you will start with the registration as you enjoy the simple coffee , briefing about the dos and the Donts while in the wilderness of Congo . Expect to learn more about the history of the park and the conservation works from the rangers ad you trek the gorillas in the wilderness with the local GPS of the park.

If you booked the gorilla trekking , you will be allocated one hour with the gorillas and if its gorilla habituation , then it will be take about 4 hours with the gorillas , after return to the park headquarter and proceed to drive back to Bukavu, proceed to the border and cross into Rwanda.Proceed to drive to kibuye or Gisenyi town for dinner and overnight.

Note : Payment of the Rwanda Visa is required at the customs of Rwanda Immigration offices at Rusizi one .

Day3:Transfer to Mgahinga National Park.

you will enjoy boat cruise at the Lake Kivu early morning and later proceed to drive to connect to Uganda with simple stop over at Ellen De Generes Campus for donation and appreciation of the work of the Late Dian Fossey , proceed to to Cyanika Border to cross into the republic of Uganda. Mgahinga National Park is located in South Western Uganda and located within the virunga Massif that are shared between Uganda, Rwanda and Congo.

Note: Uganda Visa need to be applied in advance as the rules of the visa where changed that its no longer granted on arrival.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park

After breakfast ,you transfer to Mgahinga gorilla park in the green forest vegetation. Upon arrival at the Park headquarter you will be briefed on the unique code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas then after distributing you into groups of 8 with a park ranger, you proceed to the starting point where you leave to trek the Gorillas in their natural thick forest vegetation habitat.

After the gorilla trek, you will have lunch and transfer back to your hotel in Kigali via Katuna Border to reward you the chance to see the lake Bunyonyi scenic drive.
