2 Days Mgahinga Gorilla Safari

Itinerary

Day 1: Golden Monkey Watching & Transfer to Uganda.

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed by the Rwanda Safaris guide and he will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park which is located in northern province of Rwanda,  Upon arrival at the park headquarter, you will enjoy local coffee as the safari guide does the registration with the park official, later you will assemble for the breifying about the golden monkey tracking rules and regulations, later you will head to the starting point for the golden monkey , head straight into the jungle to search for these primates, once found you will return back the starting point where you will find the experienced Local safari guide and proceed to enjoy lunch at any hotel before heading to cross the border to Uganda. 

You will check in at the lodge in Kisoro for the dinner and overnight as you await for the magical gorilla trekking in Uganda! the long waited experience of meeting these primates in the wilderness of Mgahinga! back to the second destination that hosts the Mountain Gorillas. Accommodation:

• Gahinga Lodge ( Luxury )

Note : Your advised to apply for the East African tourists visas to enable you access Rwanda and Uganda , after the trip you will be returned to Kigali for the late night flight back to home.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga & Transfer back to Kigali .

After early morning breakfast, and with your picnic lunch we then take a short drive to the Maghinga national park offices for a briefing where we meet the excellent local guides and trackers who give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. You will then hike into the forest to a spot where gorillas were seen the previous night and track from there. The terrain is rough and muddy calling for physical fitness. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. It is recommended that you take plenty of water with you on the trek. Cameras and plenty of fast-speed films are recommended. The maximum time spent with the gorillas is 1 hour. After return to the lodge and enjoy lunch before heading to cross the border to connect to Kigali international Airport for the flight back home .
