7 Days Rwanda Uganda Congo Safari
Day 1:Transfer to Mgahinga National park
On Day 1, you will be picked either be picked from your Hotel (Your own arrangement) by our driver guide or from Kigali airport on arrival to start your safari. You will transfer you to Kisoro – Uganda at the base of the Virunga Volcanoes. Dinner and Overnight at Ichumbi Hotel
Day 2:Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After having breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up and transfer to the briefing point inside the park to learn about how to behave and interact with the gorillas in the wild. The ranger guide will then lead you to start your gorilla trek in the park. After hiking some distance depending on the location of the gorillas, you will sight them and spend up to 1 hour with them before you start your descent back to the lodge. The experience in this jungle and meeting these enormous creatures will stay with you for life. After trekking the gorillas, head to the lodge and if time permits, go for another adventure on the cultural trail. Later on head back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight Ichumbi Hotel
Day 3: Golden Monkey trekking and transfer to Volcanoes
After an early morning breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to the briefing point where the golden monkey trekking starts. Just like the previous day, you receive a briefing from the ranger guide and later start your hike up Mgahinga national park in search of the golden monkeys. You are allowed 1 hour with the golden monkeys before you start your decent back to the starting point. You will then set out and travel to the countryside for your gorilla trekking in Rwanda. You will traverse steep highlands and wander into beautiful crop estates en route to your hotel in Musanze. Dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural Entertainment
You will be up at first light and make final preparations to travel to gorilla trekking start off point. Ranger escorts will lead you into the dark forests, descending steep valleys trailing in the footpaths of feeding gorillas. The interaction with gorillas, once sighted, is brief and minimized to one hour. The team will then descend out of the to reunite with the safari guide. After the trekking experience, Visit the cultural center if time permits. Dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes
Day 5: Transfer to Congo
After having breakfast, start on a scenic journey to Bukavu with wonderful views of the hills in Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Begonias
Day 6: Lowland Gorilla tracking tour in Kahuzi Biega – DR Congo
In the morning, get ready for a lifetime adventure of tracking the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National park. Lowland Gorillas differ from mountain gorillas; the lowland gorillas are bigger in size. The lowland Gorillas stay in bigger families as compared to mountain gorillas; you will not regret the safari effort once you meet the amazing Gorillas! After tracking, tracking, relax at the lodge. Dinner and overnight Begonias
Day 7: Bukavu- Kigali- Departure
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali and to the airport for your fight back home.
