10 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari

Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale national park

You will be welcomed by the Rwanda Safaris guide from Entebbe international Airport and brief you about the entire travel plan and start on the drive to connect to Kibale forest national park which is located 5 hours drive from Kampala. You will have lunch enroute in the city of Fortportal city which is the cleanest town in Uganda.  Later you will proceed to connect to Kibale forest national park for your dinner and overnight check in at the lodge .

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking  & Nature walk.

After morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarter for the briefing about Chimpanzee tracking in the forest , don't and dos briefing takes place at 7;30 to 8am and enter into the jungle to search for the chimpanzee and once if found you will stay with them for 1 hours and later return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for the bigodi walk which is great for bird watching , forest elephants and many other things . Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

You will have morning breakfast at the lodge and start on the journey passing through the craters before making a stop over in Queen Elizabeth National Park for refreshment and later proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the home for the mountain gorillas ( Recommended sector is the Rushaga Sector,  Buhoma Sector or Ruhija sector )depending on the availability of the gorilla permits

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking  in Bwindi impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast with packed lunch , your Safari guide will take you to the head quarters of the park for a Gorilla tracking briefing about the do’s and don’ts. The gorilla watching will take you between 3 -6 hours depending on the movements.Once you find them , you will have one hour watching of the endangered species in their wilderness and later return to the lodge for the relaxation .

Day 5: Transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park

You will head for the nature walk around bwindi impenetrable national park before transferring to Mgahinga National Park for the next day adventure of the Golden Monkeys and other primates.

Upon arrival at the Kisoro town , you will have a simple community walk to explore the Craters within the region and later relax at the lodge.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Tracking

After Morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarter for briefing about the golden monkey tracking and you head to the jungle to search for the apes and you will stay with them for one hour once found and later return to the town for lunch before heading for the border crossing to Volcanoes National Park .

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes national park

Its great to encounter the Mountain Gorillas on the second with Rwanda Development Board Rangers and draw a comparison between Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Uganda gorilla trekking ( time to trek the gorillas, vegetation covers and the skills or hospitality applied).

After breakfast, drive to the park offices in briefing  about the tracking formalities, and you will be divided into groups of 8paxs and transfer to the gorilla trekking starting point by your safari guides ,and enter into the jungle to search for the primates in the wilderness with the rangers . Gorilla trekking in Rwanda takes less time compared to the Uganda Bwindi gorilla watching and after you will return to the lodge for relaxation.

Option : Take community walk , drive and visit the twin lakes with boat canoe available

Day 8: Dian Fossey Hike

You head for the park headquarter for briefing about the Dian fossey hike in Volcanoes National Park, you will trek to the grave yard of the conservationists that was killed during her work of conservation of the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. its the same reason for the construction of the Ellen De Generes Campus in Rwanda which you will be visiting for the donations.

The Hiking is less tiresome and you will take 3-4 hours depending on the speed of the group and upon return you will head for lunch at the lodge and in the evening you will visit the Ellen De Generes campus for the donations. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Bisoke Hike & Transfer to Kigali

A Mountaineering adventure to the Virunga Mountains ( Volcanoes National Park ) is to trek Bisoke Mountain with the experience of trekking to the top Mount Bisoke craters and other vegetation covers of Volcanoes National park with experienced park ranger.  The Mountaineering to visoke will last for about 3- 4 hours in the trek and return to the lodge for lunch before heading to Kigali city.

Day 10: Kigali city tour and departure

On this day have your relaxed breakfast, and thereafter you will be taken to Kigali city tour with a visit to Gisozi genocide memorial and museum, craft village, Nyamata church, Hotel Rwanda and other local markets later you will be transferred to the Airport for your departure back
