1 Day Mgahinga Gorilla Trek

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali at 3;30 am in the morning by the Rwanda Safaris guide and start on the journey to connect to Uganda ( the Pearl of Africa) with border crossing at Katuna Border where you will be granted entry to Uganda. Your expected to be at the border by 4;30 proceed to drive to kisoro town which is the closed town to Mgahinga National park , you will stop at Ikoro Lodge at 6:30 am for the breakfast and few minutes relaxation before heading to Mgahinga Park headquarters for briefing about the gorilla trekking and the regulation process.

Since its clearly known that Mgahinga National park has one gorilla family , you will be granted the registration and later proceed to enter into the park to search for the gorillas trekking is not tiresome like that of Bwindi impenetrable national Park. it may take you around 3-5 hours depending on the movement of the primates and you will have the scenic view of the Virunga Mountains that are found in Congo & Rwanda.

After you will return back to the park headquarter where you will find your guide and transfer you to ikoro Lodge  for lunch and later proceed to drive back to Kigali via Cyanika border.

Arriving in Kigali in the evening with drop off at Hotel or Airport.

Note: If time allows you will make a stop over at Volcanoes National Park headquarter for the feel of it !
