Day 1: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Goma ( Virunga national Park )
Upon Arrival , you will be welcomed by the Rwanda Safaris guide and start on the 7 days Rwanda Congo gorilla safaris tour as booked . You will go for Kigali City tour and visit the few genocide memorials and after start on the drive to connect to Goma via Grande Barrier border . upon arrival you will be checked in at the lodge in Goma for Dinner and overnight .

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Virunga National Park
You will have breakfast at the lodge and then drive to the park headquarters for the briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations in Virunga national park . Depending on the gorilla family allocated , your safari guide shall transfer you to the closest point to your start of the gorilla trekking in Congo. At 8:00am you will start your journey through the forest search but not only will you view gorillas but you will encounter others mammals such as monkey, Different vegetation covers ( plants and flowers), bird species. The time spent with gorillas after allocating a gorilla family is 1 hour . After long day of hiking gorillas you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Nyiragongo Hike in Virunga National park
You will enjoy breakfast at the lodge and then start on the journey connecting to Kibati Station which is the starting point for the Nyiragongo Hike in Virunga National park . Your expected to be at the head trail at 8:00am for the briefing about the rules and regulations , selections of the porters and registration with the park offices where you will be required to present the Nyiragongo permits and the passports.
You will start on the hike which will take you 7 hours to summit including lunch en route as you will have your Mikeno package. Meals are prepares by the park team but however you can also carry your food if you wish too. You should carry warm clothes and rain coat because of the changing climate. You will have overnight at summit which has amazing active volcanoes in Africa
Dinner and overnight at Nyiragongo Cabin Shelters.
Day 4: Descend Nyiragongo Mountain
You will enjoy break fast at the summit and you will start to descend the nyiragongo Mountain back to Kibati Station where your Safari guide is waiting to transfer you to the town of Goma , Later take the boat to connect to Bukavu town that is the closest town to Kahuzi Biega National park .
The Boat from Goma to Bukavu on Lake Kivu takes you 4-5 hours and if its speed boat, it takes 3 hours to connect to Orchids or port ihusi in Bukavu .
Note: Bukavu is a city in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, lying at the extreme south-western edge of Lake Kivu, west of Cyangugu in Rwanda, and separated from it by the outlet of the Ruzizi River. It is the capital of the South Kivu province.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park.
You will have breakfast at the hotel at 5:40am and be ready to hit the road at 6:00am for the one hour and half drive to Kahuzi biega national park for the memorial Eastern Lowland gorilla trekking which are different from the mountain gorillas that you trekked in Virunga National Park.
Upon arrival at the park headquarter you will enjoy the coffee as they are briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations, You will drive from the park headquarter to the gorilla trekking start point and enter into the forest to search for the gorillas. you will stay with them for 1 hour ! Return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Watching & visit to the water falls.
After Morning breakfast , you will drive to lwiro chimpanzee sanctuary to visit to the chimpanzee orphanage center and make donations to the center that has contributed to the conservation of the Chimpanzees in DR Congo . After the chimpanzee experience , you will hike to the water falls in Kahuzi biega National Park and after return back to Bukavu for Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kigali
Since the Rwanda Congo border ( Rusizi one ) opens at 8am and closes at 3:00pm , you will have breakfast at the lodge and proceed to drive to the border to cross to Rwanda where you will pay the Rwanda visa and start to drive to connect to Kigali via Nyungwe forest National park with various stop over for simple spotting and visit to the Nyanza Palace for cultural tour . You will arrive in Kigali in the late evening and transfer to the Airport for flight back home.
